Father's Day 2009

We had an amazing Father's Day!!! The day started with an early wake up call by Rylee (I think she wanted to be the first one to wish Chris happy daddy's day), we then had a yummy breakfast of fresh blueberry pancakes and then Chris and Rylee watched the Formula 1 race together before we headed out for a day by the pool.
Rylee surprised Chris with a very sweet and memorable gift. I had her picture taken with Chris' racing helmet- it is priceless. We then did molds of her handprint and footprint. Chris loved them and are already hanging in his office. He also got a Wii. I figured that since we now spend so many nights at home what a great way to do it. We can have bowling night, tennis mario cart. So if anyone is interested in joining us come on over!
THe afternoon by the pool was fabulous- the weather was warm, the pool felt great and Rylee went swimming for the first time. She really enjoyed floating in her lily pad and was trying to lick the water the whole time. We are so glad she is a water baby!! She even managed to take a nap during the day while all of the kids were playing. Speaking of the kids, it was big W's 4th birthday on Father's day and he went down the waterslide for the first time and LOVED it. As the day came to an end we enjoyed some great burgers, homemade ice cream and cake and of course presents! I think it was a very successful first father's day!
And to my sweet baby daddy- babe, I love you very much. You are an AMAZING daddy. I love seeing you and Rylee hanging out and talking. When she gives you that huge smile it just melts my heart! Thank you for being such a huge support during this transition to parenthood. There is no one else I would want to share it with. Rylee and I are the two luckiest girls in the world. We love you XOXO!!

Bouncing, bouncing and more bouncing

To celebrate Rylee turning four months Chris and I got her a jumperoo. We were hoping that she would love it because she loves standing on our laps and jumping. So one night after Rylee went to bed Chris put the toy together and when Rylee woke up the next morning there it was waiting for her. We put her in it and she didnt cry-good thing. She looked at all of the toys in front of her and then gave us the biggest smile. At first she didnt understand that she could jump in it and just focused on grabbing at all of the toys. But now she loves to move around in that thing. She has learned that she can turn the seat in a full 360 and play with all the toys. This weekend she spent over an hour in it outside playing and watching Nat and Westin swim. I love watching her crack up at the music, lights and toys. However, I do think it should have an Ipod option so we can change the music. I dont think I can listen to it much longer :)

Rylee's 4 month stats!

Yes, it is that time again, already. I can't believe how fast 30 days can go by and how much things can change in those 30 days. Rylee is growing so fast and changing everyday. I feel so lucky that I get to spend everyday with her and see every change.

Rylee at 4 months

- weighs 14lbs 6 oz.
- height: 25 inches
- wears a size 2 diaper
- wears 3-6 month clothes. I finally packed up all of her newborn and 0-3 months. I can't believe how little she was.
- has the cutest thighs ever. I love the chubby rolls
- rolled over!!!!!
- sleeps between 10-11 hours at night. However, has decided that she doesn't like bedtime and will roll onto her stomach and cry that she can't get back on her back (even though we know she can and does during the day) I think she knows that she has us wrapped around her finger!! :)
- is still not a fan of naps. But has picked up a good hour long one in the morning but still prefers a cat nap or two in the afternoon
- loves to fall asleep on her right side sucking her thumb- precious!!!!
- thinks her hands and wrist are the best snack EVER and sucks on them all the time.
- drool is a staple part of her outfit.
- has started the teething process- FUN!
is the cutest little "boo" ever. I love you baby girl!

Rollin', Rollin' Rollin' Rylee's Rolling!

Yes Ladies and Gentleman our little girl is rolling!!! And we are so proud! Let me start with the few days leading up to the roll. I have to admit I am a competitive person and two weeks ago at my mom's group a mom with a daughter 1 day older than Rylee told me her daughter rolled. I have to admit I was jealous-I wanted Rylee to be first. I also really wanted her to roll before she was 4 months old- why I am not sure I just thought it would be fun. So I came home and really started to work with Rylee- encouraging her that rolling would be really fun. Well she didn't really agree. She decided that she really loved going onto her side and then stopping there and laughing or sucking her thumb. But I didn't give up. I showed her that rolling was fun and that everyone (aka mom) was doing it. Once again she smiled and rolled to her side. Well then on the Wednesday before her 4 month birthday she started to really roll onto her side and looked as though she was going to go the distance so I ran got the camera, video camera and started filming. Well 20 minutes later and after tons of encouragement-nothing but smiles on her side. So I gave up. Then Thursday morning, I tried again-nothing. I decided that it just wasnt going to happen before the big day. So I put Rylee down for her morning nap and all of a sudden she woke up screaming. I ran into her room and guess what I see- Rylee on her tummy. She had rolled and I missed it!!! I was so excited that I started snapping pictures and tried to get her to do it again on the floor. Guess what- she did it for me, her dad and the video camera. This time not only did she go from back to tummy but also from tummy to back. It was a very proud moment for us. Plus she did 1 day before she was 4 months!! Now she rolls everywhere and is loving it.

dinner time at the Tomaszewski's

As many of you know Rylee is a social butterfly. She loves to be around people and to watch all of the action. Well being around us is no different. She loves to be in her swing watching us or in our laps so she can see everything. Last week she decided that she didn't like sitting in her swing while we were eating at the dinner table and she decided to let us k now that (i.e. threw big fit). So I came up with the brilliant idea of putting her in the bumbo (best invention ever) and let her join us at the dinner table. I figured why not start family dinner now so she gets used to it. Well it was a HUGE success!!! She loved it!! She smiled, talked and watched us the whole time. Plus we loved it. We loved hat we were sitting around the table together. The best part was when she became mesmerized by Chris' diet pepsi can. she followed it everywhere. We were going to film it for diet pepsi but decided we didnt want her to be an instant celebrity! :)

Rylee survived her first Rescue Racing race!

Over memorial day weekend we packed up the toyhauler and headed to Yerrington,NV to watch Chris race. First let me say that babies have so much stuff. We packed the stroller, swing, bouncer, pack n play and a bunch of toys. What use to take me 20 minutes to pack took me 3 hours!!! But we finished packing and hit the road. Rylee did great on the 5 hour drive. She is a champ in the car. She spends time talking to her "friends" that hang from her car seat- Frank the frog and Dannie the duck and then she sleeps.
Then we arrived at the race. Let me just get it out there that we were camping- no plugs ins, limited water and load cars. While we were unpacking the wind started up and it got crazy. It was blowing everything including the trailer and then out of no where rain!! Yes, rain. o be honest I looked at Chris and said find me a rent a car place because I am out of here. But then I took a deep breath, hoped into the RV and decided that this was going to be a crazy adventure.
Rylee did amazingly well. She slept great even though her schedule was off, she enjoyed all of the people and action and has become a fan of desert racing!! She did not mind the dirt, noise or late nights. She loved having her cousin Natalie spend the night.
Chris did amazingly well too. he finished the race and placed 4th. It was very exciting because everyone had a great race. After 2 years of wrenching and trail and error Rescue Racing is now a contender.
I think the hardest part of the weekend was the clean up. There was dirt everywhere. So we spent most of Monday evening cleaning everything. I think we had 12 loads of laundry (I am still working on it)!!
But here are a few pics of the weekend..

Daddy explaining to Rylee where we were headed and how much fun it would be!
