A successful weekend for Rescue Racing

On a different note Rescue Racing had a VERY successful weekend at Praire City. This weekend Chris drove one of the buggies and Jeremy drove the other and Rick drove the truck. On Sat., the boys had a good practice run and an even better qualifying with Jeremy qualifying first and Chris qualifying third in there division and Rick qualifying first in his. I was only able to be out at the track on Sat because sunday I was busy hosting a baby shower for Carli (Hi Carli) But boy from what I heard I missed an AMAZING race!! First, Rick one both heats and brought home the first place trophy for Rescue Racing!!! In the buggie division Chris ended up in 3rd place and also brought home the trophy. So Rescue Racing is really starting to make their mark in the off-road racing world. If you havent checked out they webpage please do so- www.rescueracing.com . It will really be exciting to see how this season plays out- I have a strong feeling we will be seeing more and more trophies!! :) GO RESCUE RACING!!!

Here are a few pics from Sat...

The trusses have arrived

Today they delivered the trusses. It took over half of the day for them to unload to semi-truck flat beds with the crane. So now they are all laying on top of the house waiting to be tilted upright.

They have completely finished framing our home. All of the walls are done and it feels like a house. Once the trusses are up they will do the roof, gutters and then start the electrical. so we are still trucking along.

Our first dinner at the house!

After a long weekend Chris came up with a great idea to have a sunset picnic at the house. So we packed up some goodies and headed up the hill...we climbed the make-shift stairs and set up in our soon to be master bathroom and had a picnic. We had a great time envisioning what's to come. We still can't believe in 9 months this will be our home. So here are a few pics of our picnic.

Our picnic-very gourmet :)

We have a 2nd floor!!!

So we have been a little slow on the updates this week but it was not a slow week on the job site. The started our second floor!! We can officially walk around the whole second story and see out a few windows. As we look at the pictures and walk around we laugh at all of the beams holding our house up. We can conclude that the house is probably a little over engineered-so rest assured that when you stay at Hotel Tomaszewski you will have no fears of falling through to the first floor!! Here are the updated pictures.

Here is one of the 36 inch beams!

3 posts in one day!!! Our new neighbor!!

Today our soon to be new neighbor on our left poured their foundation!!! It was very exciting because this neighbor is my mom!! It was a fun morning up at the lot because Ryan, Natalie and I joined my mom to watch them pour the foundation. So here are a few pics of her new house...(i am trying to convince her to start a blog too!)

The fam watching!!

Her almost completed foundation (thats our house in the background)...look at her view!!

And finally, the three men keeping all of the homes on schedule- Mark, Jeremy and Ryan- watching the pour!

The backyard or what will become the backyard!

We have gotten a lot of questions about the backyard so I tried to take pics of the open space. However, the pics don't really capture how big it is.

The first picture is where the swim up bar and sunken entertainment area will go. It will be where we will do a lot of the entertaining in the summer.

This picture shows more of the backyard-mostly where the pool and slide will be.

And in honor of us signing on the dotted line last night to build our pool here is the final drawing of the pool area. You can see the slide into the deep end. As you float to the shallow end you will see the first step and that is a toddler area or for us a place to put lounge chairs in the water and lay out. The next shelf is the swim up bar area. You can also see where we are putting the fire pit (right by the stairs leading down to the pool level). We chose to put the spa up by the house more so we will be able to enjoy it during the cold winter days too!! We are already envisioning lazy summer days floating with our good friends sipping on margaritas...ooohhh summer of 2009 I can't wait.

Day 7 of Framing

Today marks one week since they started framing the house. Boy, what a difference a week makes. They put the back wall up two days ago and all I can say is "Massive" The wall is 24 feet tall and is huge! All we keep doing is looking at the top of it. Our fireplace that splits the family room and lounge is also 24 feet tall.

Here is Chris marveling at the height of our family room wall!

We are in awe and love with the lounge/bar!! It is truly going to be spectacular. I think the best views will come from our breakfast nook. I can already see myself sitting at the table reading the paper and overlooking the valley and Sacramento...

Here is the back of the house!! Look at that back wall. You can also see the fireplace if you look past the wall.

Here is the other part of the back of the house. The big opening in between the two metal walls is the breakfast nook.

The front of the house.

We are both anxiously waiting to see how the master is going to layout and what views we will have. So bring on the second story!

I hope you enjoy the updated pics....

A weekend at the track

WOW!! What a weekend Rescue Racing had. This weekend we raced locally at Praire City. Saturday was busy with practice and qualifying. Ryan drove a pre-runner and Chris navigated for him, Dave drove the other pre-runner and Jeremy navigated for him and Rick drove the trophy truck with Josh as his navigator. Qualifying went pretty well-it was great for the guys to get out on the short track and see what it is like driving in groups rather than in the open desert. But the excitement was really on Sunday-race day. First off-what amazing fans we have. We had a HUGE turn out and we cannot send out enough "thanks" to everyone who supports us on this adventure. It was so thrilling to listen to everyone cheering on the guys! So again, THANK YOU to everyone who came out.

This race is much different than the open desert because they split the cars into classes and then each class races in 2 different heats. Rick's class went first and all the announcer (Q-Tip) could say was "holly horsepower Batman!" Rick was creaming the rest of his class. He had a huge lead and we thought we would see our first checkered flag and first trophy. However, once again we had transmission problems and the race was over like that! So Rick and the trophy truck did not finish. But look at that air he caught!!!

But did Ryan and Dave do awesome!! During the first heat Ryan passed Dave and the two of them battled it out for the entire 8 laps. They both crossed the finish line with Ryan taking the first checked flag for Rescue Racing. During the second heat things really started to heat up. Dave took the lead on the starting lap and then Ryan slyly passed by him. they both were having a great race-ryan in 4th overall and Dave battling it for 5th with another team. But, as Ryan started his last lap the truck died after turn 1-they were unable to start it up again and had to be towed off the track. A HUGE bummer. But Dave did finish the race and caught huge air on the last jump to bring home another checkered flag!!

Although we didn't finish exactly where we wanted the whole experience was great. The smiles on all of the guys faces were worth all of the hard work. Another huge shout out goes to everyone that helps them work on these trucks. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't be where we are today. I mean to be able to pull an engine out late Saturday night at the track fix a transmission and then put the engine back in the matter of hours is truly impressive!!

Rescue Racing will be back at Praire City on April 26 and 27. So if you are in the area come out and support the team and watch them in action!!!

Day 2 of Framing

We just got back from the lot and WOW what a difference a day makes. It is starting to look like a house!! Today they framed Chris'- I mean Hef's office, my craft room, the pool bath, the pantry and Chris' man garage. It is amazing how fast these guys work. I am sure they will be finished with the first story by next week like they said. So here are todays pictures.

The first picture is Chris in his new office.

This picture is Kelly washing her hands in her soon to be new kitchen.

This picture is of the whole house.

Our First Wall

We have our first wall. I am so overwhelmed with excitement right now! I can't believe we can actually see, touch and walk through a portion of our home!!! I was not expecting them to put walls up yet. I thought they would still be finishing doing the plating. But as I drove up the hill this morning and saw this brand new wall I just giggled with excitement. Of course the first thing I did was call Chris...he was so excited. (i think it took all of his will power to stay at work!) Then of course I had to send him and our parents pictures of the wall so he knew I wasn't joking.

We are going to go back up there tonight and see how much more progress they have completed. It will probably be too dark for photos but I promise I will update again tomorrow with more.

But until then this is one happy girl with a huge perma grin on my face dreaming of the house warming party already! :)
