Grading is almost complete

After only 4 days the grading is almost done. We can know actually see how where the house will be and how big the backyard really is. It is so exciting!! The first picture is where the house will be with a patio and first level of grass. We are still in awe and overwhelmed by the whole thing. We can't believe that our future home is going to be there.

The second picture shows where the backyard starts. We will have steps going down to the pool/swim up bar/ tot area and fire pit. You can kind of see where the lot starts to slope and where the stairs will be. The pool is going to be in the shaded area by the tractor. Oh and the view is spectacular!!! We can see all the way down to Downtown Sacramento. At night all you see is thousands of lights lighting up the sky!! We are already planning our first summer bash-summer 2009!!

We are going to be gone for the weekend- so we won't be able to post pics but next week should have updated pics of the completed grading and maybe the beginning of the rock retaining walls.

have a great weekend,

WE BROKE GROUND!!!!

Today has been one of the most exciting days- we broke ground on our new home!!! It has been a very long year of planning, designing and waiting but today made this wait worth it. This morning 3 very large tractors showed up at the lot and began eating away at the dirt. I never thought I would be so excited seeing dirt being moved!!!

We are so thrilled that the project is finally underway and hopefully we will be able to post daily or weekly progress reports and pictures. So stay tuned and check out this blog for all updates.

OUR HOUSE SOLD

After being on the market less than a month our home sold. Not only did it sell we have to be out in 10 days!!! This has been very emotional. It is bittersweet because we are excited because we are one step closer to building our dream home but the reality that we have not broken ground means we will be in a rental for little longer than we thought.

I just hope the new owners of our old home appreciate the blood, sweat and tears that went into that home and enjoy it as much as we did.

Our home is officially on the market

Our home is officially for sale!!! There is a sign in the front yard and they just finished taking the pictures and virtual tour. I am having mixed feeling about it- I am excited to build our dream home yet I am dreading the in between period-the rental!!!! It is going to be sad to move from our first home. We put so much hard work into the remodel and haven't really had the opportunity to enjoy it yet. I guess this means we will have to have a BBQ every weekend until it sells!!! Who wants to join us?!?
